Our vines are nurtured in a unique terroir heavily influenced by our close proximity to the icy Atlantic Ocean.

We have chosen a stylistic approach to the Ataraxia Vineyards wine range, to defer completely to the sites from which the different grapes are sourced.

Care has been taken to match rootstock choice exactly to the vineyard soil type also ensuring that no stone has been left unturned in the sourcing of the very best scion material available in the country.

Who

In 2004, The Skyfields Farm was visioned into the Ataraxia wine label when husband and wife, Kevin and Hanli Grant and a few friends purchased this 47-hectare prime vineyard property. Kevin is a self-confessed 'terroiriste'.

"One cannot enter the Kentucky Derby on a donkey and expect to take home the prize money, even if you have the best jockey in the world on board."

More than a decade later, we are associated with crafting wines of incredible finesse, balance and depth; wines that proudly hold their own on the international wine stage.

We are known for an elegant, finesse and precise range which reflect a sense of place. We are best known for our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Offerings

The tasting room interior is an artistic counterbalance to the outward appearance, offering 360 degree views from comfortable couches, businesslike tables and surrounded by magnificent art. We offer an educated tasting experience with our knowledgeably managers. Glamtrails offer a hike between Ataraxia and Creation through the Fynbos.
