Domaine des Dieux
Domaine des Dieux is a boutique family run wine farm, established in 2002 by business partners Sharon Parnell and Peter Clarke. What was once simple sheep pastures, has now slowly been transformed into 28Ha of vineyards, producing premium award winning wines. None of which would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and passion to create a sanctuary for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Where
Perched in the foothill of BabylonsToren mountain range in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, our 28 hectares of virgin soil is now home to vineyards planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvingon Blanc, Syrah and a handful of smaller varietal parcels.
The farm provides for itself with deep rich clay soils, allowing the retention of water year round, topped with broken shale. At 320m above sea level our elevated altitude plays a vital role in maintaining our cooler climate.
Who
Now run day to day by Sharon’s daughter Megan Mullis, with the viticulture carefully overseen by her husband Shane Mullis, the future of this boutique winery is still very much unwritten but the dream is that one day both the vineyards and cellar will be run by this husband and wife team, building a future for generations to come.
We invite you to join us on our journey of learning, growing and most importantly making memorable wines.
Famed
As the very first producer of bubbly in the region, we pride ourselves on being the home of Hemel-en-Aarde Cap Classique and in our never ending quest to make the perfect bubble we are honoured to have been awarded the best MCC from South Africa both locally and internationally.
Our dedication to the Hemel-en-Aarde means we are also incredibly proud of our still wines, who have established recognition as bottle aged wines of beautiful finessed and balance, receiving many local and international awards including the best wine in South Africa at the prestigious 2019 Veritas Wine Awards.
